Big Science Sweden is seeking a candidate to join a tight-knit team managing CERN’s Electronics, Mechanical and Mathematics Software Services. You will support software provisioning and user assistance while working with experienced colleagues.

The role offers hands-on experience with automation and web development, contributing to a variety of engineering applications within an international organization.

Qualifikationen

• Maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation.
• Must not hold a PhD.
• Previous CERN contracts disqualify candidates.

You will join a tight-knit team that manages CERN’s Electronics, Mechanical and Mathematics Software Services, providing more than 50 engineering, mathematics and multiphysics applications used by thousands of engineers for the design and maintenance of accelerators, detectors and infrastructure! Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will contribute to the operation and evolution of these services through automation, internal web development and user support. The role offers exposure to software provisioning, licence usage analysis, container-based workflows for FPGA development, and service support in an international organisation environment. You will also contribute to shared section activities, including providing support for the e-mail service.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

• You are a national of aCERN Member State or Associate Member State. Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field and your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You must have a university degree and can’t hold a PhD.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
