Zusammenfassung

Stonington Public Schools is seeking a Skilled Trades Worker to maintain and repair district facilities, including HVAC and electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance.

The successful candidate will support a Monday–Friday schedule, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., 40 hours per week, and may lead assigned staff while coordinating with town departments and private contractors.

Qualifikationen

• The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with completion of a vocational-technical school program in a trade area and two years of trades experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• A working knowledge of building maintenance and its related systems.
• A working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
• Ability to maintain a working knowledge of changes in systems and equipment.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
• Ability to read.
• Ability to describe orally or in writing repair or maintenance problems is necessary.
• Ability to provide lead supervision to assigned workers.
• Must be able to work cooperatively with town department personnel and private contractors.
• License or certificate: Licensed in HVAC (S2 or higher) or electrician (E2 or higher) is preferred, but not required. If not licensed, 10 years of experience in related fields preferred.
• A Connecticut Class B CDL desirable. A Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required
