The Position

The Site Data Operations Lead is a strategic leadership role within Roche's Digital & Operational Excellence (PTE) organization, serving as the principal single point of contact (SPoC) and executive liaison for site-level engagement with global data product teams. Based at the site and reporting directly to the One PT Data Office executive leadership, this role drives PTE's enterprise-wide digital and operational strategy across global manufacturing and operational sites.

The Senior Site Data Operations Lead champions data governance and strategy, ensuring enterprise data requirements for strategic data products and high-impact use cases are fulfilled by establishing global data readiness standardizations across core source systems. Your role involves steering data product roadmap alignment, governing enterprise data quality, leading site-level data transformations, and orchestrating executive stakeholder management between global leadership, Data Product Owners, and site executives to ensure seamless, scalable data flow and strategic alignment across the organization.

The Opportunity
  • Strategic SPoC & Executive Liaison: Act as the strategic site-level single point of contact (SPoC), leading engagements with enterprise data product teams and driving alignment between site operations and global PTE digital initiatives
  • Enterprise Data Strategy & Requirements: Direct the definition and fulfillment of complex data requirements for strategic enterprise data products, partnering with global leadership and cross-functional site executives to align data architecture with business strategy
  • Global Data Governance & Readiness: Oversee comprehensive data readiness and governance frameworks at the source level, ensuring high-integrity, continuous data availability, and championing advanced data remediation strategies for critical use cases
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead collaboration across global enterprise data product teams, Data Domain Leads, and site leadership to enable scalable data flows and integrate site operations into PTE's global transformation agenda
  • Holistic Site Data Oversight: Drive end-to-end visibility of the site’s data landscape, proactively managing site constraints for global PTE Data Product Owners and steering strategic prioritization of critical work packages
  • Advocacy & Organizational Compliance: Drive organizational adoption of data governance best practices, enforcing adherence to global standards and enterprise data product frameworks while preemptively mitigating strategic risks
Who You Are
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or equivalent experience would be preferred
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise data strategy and data management, with a track record of architecting and delivering complex, global data analytics solutions using modern, agile, and scalable paradigms (e.g., Data Mesh)
  • Technical Leadership: Deep expertise in enterprise data mesh architecture, data warehousing, data integration technologies, master data management, and enterprise data governance frameworks
  • Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of data management practices, especially within the context of Pharma Tech Ops or similar industries, with domain-based expertise in areas like Manufacturing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Quality
  • Executive Competencies: Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated capability to influence leadership, lead change management, and resolve complex systemic challenges across global business functions
