Job summary

Swiss ATC Services (Swiss air navigation services client) seeks a Simulation Engineer to keep complex simulation environments used by air traffic controllers reliable for training. You will integrate applications and systems, automate tasks, assemble baselines and verify end-to-end functionality.

Development work is 5–10% of the workload, focusing on scripting, integration, configuration, testing and technical support to ensure training environments perform as intended.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with complex, interconnected technical systems.
• Strong scripting and automation skills to improve deployment and testing.
• Hands-on integration experience across interfaces and configurations.
• Structured approach to defects, validation and reliable environments.
• Software engineering foundation to investigate problems and changes.
• Experience in ATC or controller-training simulation is a plus.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix, networking and data-exchange analysis.
• Experience with Java and integration tech such as Spring or Apache Camel.
• Familiarity with deployment automation tools (Puppet, Ansible).
• Knowledge of aviation messaging and data interfaces is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Integrate new and changed systems into the simulation environment and understand interfaces.
• Create and maintain simulation baselines and deploy them for training.
• Develop scripts to automate configuration, deployment, verification and operational tasks.
• Perform integration testing, record defects and coordinate fixes.
• Support operational validation and resolve issues during exercises.
• Provide second-line technical support beyond the first line hotline.
• Investigate exchanges between systems including network and data interfaces.
• Coordinate technical activities and maintain documentation and handover information.
• Follow quality, safety and change-control processes.
