Job summary

TotalEnergies is seeking an Accounting intern for a 6-month placement in Geneva. You will work under the Accounting Manager in the Trading & Shipping financial team, handling invoices, bank reconciliations and monthly closings as part of a dynamic energy trading environment.

The ideal candidate is a Master student in Finance or Accounting, fluent in English and French, with strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency; VBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master Degree in Finance or Accounting, ideally in final year.
• Excellent English and French written and spoken skills.
• Strong analytical abilities and good communication with team.
• High level of organization, detail orientation and rigor.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel; VBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounting and payment processing of invoices for T&S.
• Follow up on provisions and bank reconciliations.
• Make online declarations and online tax payments.
• Support producing consolidated and social financial statements.
• Assist with monthly closings and reporting tasks.
• Contribute to VAT and tax declarations and audits.
• Participate in projects for process automation and improvements.

If yes, we would love to see your profile as we are looking for our next intern to join our Accounting desk for a 6-month period.

TotalEnergies has developed a strong expertise in the trading and shipping of oil and biofuels. Trading and Shipping entities are based in Geneva, Paris, Dubai, Athens, Houston and Singapore. TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S) is the European trading and shipping hub in Geneva of the trading of oil and oil products , which bring s together very large teams around the trading activities . It is in charge of all physical trading andshipping of crude oil and refined products on behalf of the TotalEnergies Company. It has been anactive participant all over the supply chain as well as on the derivatives paper market inorder to manage the market risk for a long time.

The Trading business is fast-moving, dynamic and complex environment: it is necessary to understand the business and react quickly. You will report totheAccounting Manager within the Trading & Shipping financial team. Your main responsibilities will be the following:

• Following the accounting and the payment of T&S invoices,
• Carrying out the follow-up on the provisions, the bank reconciliations,
• Making online declarations and online payments with the tax organisms
• Participating in the production of consolidated and social financial statements,
• Reviewing the results of spot voyages,
• Assisting with monthly closings and reporting tasks
• Assisting with VAT and tax declarations
• Supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements and audit processes
• Contributing to projects (process automation, operational improvements…)

• You are pursuing a Master Degree in a Business School, in Finance or Accounting , and ideally enrolled in your final year.
• You have excellent English and French verbal and writing skills
• You have strong analytical skills, a good team spirit, and a great ability to communicate.
• Details orientation, organization and rigour, are essential for this position.
• Excellent Knowledge of Excel is mandatory / VBA is a plus
• A tri-partite internship agreement is mandatory
