Zusammenfassung

Swissblock's TradFi Quant Engineering team builds and operates the automated trading platform powering multiple strategies.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you own delivery from concept to production, collaborating with portfolio managers, quants, traders, and risk/compliance to translate business needs into robust Python and Go solutions.

The role demands ownership, cross-functional collaboration and a commitment to regulatory readiness in a fast-paced trading environment.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience in trading system development and operation in traditional finance.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or similar (e.g. Physics or Applied Mathematics) with software engineering involved.
• Hands-on senior level experience in Python and/or Go; strong motivation to become proficient in both.
• Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle: order management, execution, post-trade processing and reporting.
• Background in a regulated institutional environment.
• Algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design.
• Unix based systems, containerized environments and Kubernetes.
• Working experience with databases: relational, NoSQL and time series.
• REST API, Websocket and message brokers (e.g. Kafka, NATS, Pub/Sub).
• Proficient written and verbal communication in English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven self-starter who takes initiative on ambiguous problems and coordinates effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Consistently high standards for code quality and system reliability, with curiosity and commitment to ongoing learning.

Aufgaben

• Proactively engage with traders, portfolio managers, operations, risk and compliance to gather, analyze and challenge requirements.
• Conduct workload and complexity assessments.
• Design, plan and implement new trading system components in Python and Go.
• Maintain, operate and enhance the existing production trading infrastructure.
• Drive and track progress of architectural changes from concept to production.
• Support post-trade reporting, regulatory workflows and operational processes.
• Shape the technical direction of new services and initiatives.
• Apply and deepen knowledge of financial instruments, market structure and regulation.
