Job summary

Bachem Holding AG in Bubendorf seeks a Local Head of Technical Operations to lead multiple domains, aligning local priorities with global TechOps. You will manage domain leads, drive process optimization, and support GMP readiness at the site with a strong focus on NCE projects and digital initiatives.

You are a senior leader with 10+ years in GMP pharma, fluent in German and English, and capable of influencing stakeholders across functions while advancing the site’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• 10+ years in GMP-regulated pharma/CDMO with 5+ years in senior leadership within Technical Operations.
• Expertise in manufacturing, tech transfer, process optimization, validation, and lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical organizations and influence senior stakeholders.
• Fluent in German and English; strong MS Office and SAP/MES proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical operations across multiple domains aligned with global TechOps strategy.
• Develop and mentor technical teams; foster accountability, innovation, and improvement.
• Oversee troubleshooting, process optimization, validation, safety, and production support.
• Drive technology transfers, NCE projects, lifecycle management, and CAPEX input.
• Support digitalization, OT systems, simulations, and data analytics; ensure GMP readiness.
• Shape site strategy, communicate with senior stakeholders, and ensure operational readiness.
