Job summary

Synpulse Group, a leading global management and technology consultancy with Swiss roots, is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to design and deliver innovative technology solutions for banking and insurance clients. You will translate business needs into scalable, secure architectures and guide delivery teams across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering or solution architecture, including 3+ years in a lead role.
• Enterprise-grade systems experience within financial services, banking, wealth management, or insurance.
• Deep knowledge of Cloud Native architectures, containers, Kubernetes, service mesh, and multi‑cloud/hybrid deployments.
• Strong tech stack knowledge: event‑driven architectures, microservices, APIs, and DevSecOps.
• Data engineering and data architecture expertise, with AI/ML in production, plus architectural modelling skills.
• Hands‑on in on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure in regulated environments.
• Excellent communication to bridge business and technical teams; leadership and mentoring ability.
• Fluent English; German a plus.

As part of our Synpulse8 team, you will play a key role in designing and delivering innovative technology solutions for our clients across banking and insurance, with a particular focus on reinsurance and our Reinsurance Workbench solutions.

You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, combining strategic thinking with hands‑on technical expertise and a strong software engineering background. Working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and future‑ready architectures.

You will guide technical teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, contribute to the continuous evolution of our solutions, and help drive technical excellence across projects.

Job Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience in software engineering or solution architecture, including a minimum of 3 years in a lead or senior architect role.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise‑grade systems within financial services, banking, wealth management, or insurance.
• Deep understanding of Cloud Native architectures, including containerisation, Kubernetes, service mesh, and serverless technologies, as well as Cloud Agnostic approaches for multi‑cloud and hybrid‑cloud deployments.
• Strong expertise in modern technology stacks, including event‑driven architectures, microservices, APIs, and DevSecOps.
• Solid knowledge of data engineering and data architecture, including data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming technologies, combined with experience integrating AI/ML into production environments.
• Proficiency with architectural modelling tools and frameworks such as C4 Model, PlantUML, Structurizr, or ArchiMate.
• Hands‑on experience designing and deploying on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure solutions in highly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to design and deliver fixed‑price or outcome‑based projects while balancing scope, quality, and timelines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, combined with a pragmatic, delivery‑focused approach.
• Collaborative mindset, leadership potential, and the ability to coach and mentor others.
• Fluent English is required; German language skills are an advantage.

Additional Qualifications That Would Be An Advantage

• Experience in reinsurance, particularly underwriting processes, reinsurance technology platforms, or workbench solutions.
• Strong domain expertise and hands‑on experience in financial services, banking, wealth management, or insurance.
• Previous client‑facing consulting experience, ideally within financial services.
• Familiarity with Domain‑Driven Design (DDD), Event Storming, or similar collaborative design methodologies.
• Experience in platform engineering or developing reusable internal developer platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with modern data and AI technologies such as Spark, dbt, Kafka, MLOps, or LLM / GenAI agentic solutions.
• Certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Active involvement in architecture communities, technical publications, or open‑source initiatives.

• Act as a hands‑on advisor throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and quality expectations.
• Work in agile and multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful solutions at speed.
