Job summary

Synpulse Holding AG seeks a Senior Solution Architect to drive architectural design and delivery for banking and insurance clients, with a focus on reinsurance and our Reinsurance Workbench solutions.

You will translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure architectures, guide technical teams, and collaborate with stakeholders across business and engineering disciplines. Fluent English required; German a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering or solution architecture, with 3+ years in lead roles.
• Experience designing enterprise-grade systems in financial services, banking, wealth management, or insurance.
• Deep Cloud Native knowledge: containers, Kubernetes, service mesh, serverless, multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud.
• Strong expertise in event-driven architectures, microservices, APIs, DevSecOps.
• Data engineering knowledge: pipelines, data lakes/warehouses, streaming; AI/ML in production.
• Modeling with C4, PlantUML, Structurizr, ArchiMate.
• On-premises and hybrid infrastructure in regulated environments.
• Ability to balance scope, quality, and timelines.

As part of our Synpulse8 team, you will play a key role in designing and delivering innovative technology solutions for our clients across banking and insurance, with a particular focus on reinsurance and our Reinsurance Workbench solutions. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, combining strategic thinking with hands‑on technical expertise and a strong software engineering background. Working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and future‑ready architectures. You will guide technical teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, contribute to the continuous evolution of our solutions, and help drive technical excellence across projects.

Job requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience in software engineering or solution architecture, including a minimum of 3 years in a lead or senior architect role.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise‑grade systems within financial services, banking, wealth management, or insurance.
• Deep understanding of Cloud Native architectures, including containerisation, Kubernetes, service mesh, and serverless technologies, as well as Cloud Agnostic approaches for multi‑cloud and hybrid‑cloud deployments.
• Strong expertise in modern technology stacks, including event‑driven architectures, microservices, APIs, and DevSecOps.
• Solid knowledge of data engineering and data architecture, including data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming technologies, combined with experience integrating AI/ML into production environments.
• Proficiency with architectural modelling tools and frameworks such as C4 Model, PlantUML, Structurizr, or ArchiMate.
• Hands‑on experience designing and deploying on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure solutions in highly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to design and deliver fixed‑price or outcome‑based projects while balancing scope, quality, and timelines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, combined with a pragmatic, delivery‑focused approach.
• Collaborative mindset, leadership potential, and the ability to coach and mentor others.

• Previous client‑facing consulting experience, ideally within financial services。
• Familiarity with Domain‑Driven Design (DDD), Event Storming, or similar collaborative design methodologies.
• Experience in platform engineering or developing reusable internal developer platforms.
