Sygnum seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Custody value stream. You will contribute to building secure, scalable backend services powering digital asset custody, working in an agile Scrum team.

Your role emphasizes secure code, collaboration with platform, SRE, and architecture teams, and mentoring newer engineers to deliver high-quality, reliable software.

Qualifikationen

• Expertise in Java and/or Typescript.
• Security and applied cryptography experience.
• Experience with Spring or Quarkus.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Kafka.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, REST API design, and microservices.
• Docker and containerization knowledge; Kubernetes is a plus; AWS exposure is beneficial.

About the role

The Custody Value Stream is a cross-functional team committed to the secure custody of digital assets, our foremost mission. As part of a regulated digital asset bank, we are entrusted with the safekeeping of client assets, and we place security, compliance, and operational integrity at the heart of everything we do.

We operate in an agile, product-led environment, bringing together specialists in product management, engineering, and architecture to deliver and operate scalable, end-to-end custody solutions. Our platform is continuously evolving to uphold the highest standards of security, reliability, and resilience; ensuring that client assets remain protected in an increasingly complex digital landscape.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our agile Scrum team within the Custody value stream, where you'll contribute to building secure, scalable, and innovative solutions that power our digital asset custody services.

Your main responsibilities:

• Actively participate in developing new features and improvements by writing and reviewing high-quality, secure code with comprehensive test coverage
• Constantly enhance the quality and security of applications, identifying existing technical debt and making plans to repay itRespond to production incidents promptly and efficiently, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and restore service continuity
• Collaborate with platform engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelines and streamline release processes
• Collaborate with SRE engineers and solution architects to optimize application availability, resilience, and observability
• Nurture and guide more junior software engineers through coaching and mentoring
• You are passionate about building scalable backend services leveraging the latest industry standards
• You have a collaborative and growth mindset
• You care about quality and security and bake those aspects in the software development lifecycle
• You are comfortable taking ownership of the whole development lifecycle, from designing solutions to running the application in production
• You are proactive and get motivated with new opportunities and challenges

What will make you stand out:

• Expertise in Java and/or Typescript
• Expertise in security and applied cryptographyExpertise in an industry framework such as Spring or Quarkus
• Expertise in working with RDBMS (ideally Postgres)
• Working experience with utilizing Kafka
• Experience with distributed systems and infrastructure
• Designing flexible and robust REST APIs with an API first approach
• Understanding microservices, event driven architecture and being able to implement complex functionality with high quality and security
• Working knowledge of Docker and containerization
• Experience of working with Kubernetes is beneficial
• Experience of working with AWS is beneficial
