Job summary

Computer Futures seeks a skilled MES software engineer in Zurich to design, develop, and deploy MES applications using C# and .NET. You will translate business needs into scalable software, build MES-SAP integrations, and support production-critical systems.

The role requires strong C#, .NET/ASP.NET, and MES domain knowledge, plus German language skills. Expect a permanent role after ~7 months in a hybrid emergency onsite setup and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

• Onsite Requirement: Mandatory presence of 3-4 days per week onsite in Zurich
• Contract Type: Permanent employment planned after approximately 7 months (temp-to-perm model)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy MES applications using C# and .NET.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop software architectures and perform effort estimations.
• Build and maintain integrations between MES and ERP systems such as SAP.
• Support production-critical applications and resolve incidents.
• Continuously improve software based on business and production needs.
• Ensure code quality through testing, version control, and best practices.
• Integrate modern technologies into existing manufacturing software platforms.
• Support CI/CD, QA, and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with international teams and stakeholders.
• Plan and execute software rollouts within production environments.
• Provide user training and technical guidance.

Mandatory Requirements

• Strong experience with C#
• Strong experience with.NET / ASP.NET
• Experience developing enterprise software solutions
• Understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 / Smart Manufacturing
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or similar)
• Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle
• Experience with software integration and data exchange
• German language skills are mandatory
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
