Zusammenfassung

Ucentrics AG, a deep-tech startup and ETH Zurich spin-off, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) to develop and evolve its cloud-based SaaS platform for industrial customers. You will translate customer requirements into product features, collaborating with our Lead Engineer, CTO, and product teams.

Responsibilities include designing end-to-end SaaS features, building scalable backend services, and modelling data with MongoDB or Cosmos DB.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in SaaS or cloud-based product development.
• Strong backend engineering experience with APIs, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cosmos DB, or comparable technologies.

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end SaaS features across frontend, backend, APIs, and data layers.
• Design and maintain scalable backend services and microservices.
• Build robust data models and work with databases such as MongoDB and Cosmos DB.
• Develop and operate secure, scalable cloud services across Azure and Google Cloud.
• Understand industrial workflows and customer requirements and translate them into well-designed product features.
• Take ownership of features throughout their lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Drive software quality through clean architecture, automated testing, code reviews, monitoring, and modern DevOps practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, performance optimization, security, and production reliability.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) to develop and evolve our cloud-based SaaS platform for industrial customers. In this role, you will use your extensive experience with backend services, cloud infrastructure, and modern web technologies to build reliable, scalable products that integrate seamlessly with mobile devices and customers’ IT infrastructure. You will play a key role in translating customer requirements into product features, working closely with our Lead Engineer, CTO, software engineering and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end SaaS features across frontend, backend, APIs, and data layers
• Design and maintain scalable backend services and microservices
• Build robust data models and work with databases such as MongoDB and Azure Cosmos DB
• Develop and operate secure, scalable cloud services across Azure and Google Cloud
• Understand industrial workflows and customer requirements and translate them into well-designed product features
• Take ownership of features throughout their lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement
• Drive software quality through clean architecture, automated testing, code reviews, monitoring, and modern DevOps practices
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, performance optimization, security, and production reliability
• Support the continuous evolution of our software architecture as the product and customer base scale

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in SaaS or cloud-based product development
• Strong backend engineering experience and understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and service-oriented architectures
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cosmos DB, or comparable technologies
• Strong experience with Azure or Google Cloud is beneficial
• Solid understanding of software architecture, Domain-Driven Design, clean architecture, and modular system design
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, infrastructure as code, and production operations
• Ability to understand complex customer workflows and industrial processes and translate them into pragmatic, scalable software solutions
• Strong product mindset with a focus on usability, maintainability, and delivering measurable customer value
• Strong ownership, structured problem-solving, and hands‑on execution
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical teams and customer-facing stakeholders
• Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage
