Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Search Relevance team. You will help define technical direction, design and implement new search features, and resolve complex bugs.

This globally distributed group collaborates via email, GitHub, Zoom, and Slack to build fast, scalable, and intuitive software. You will contribute to the vector search capabilities, improve search relevance, and work closely with engineers across continents to ship robust features and

Qualifications

Experience with search or vector databases and relevant algorithms at scale.
Strong Java skills and knowledge of data structures and concurrency.
Ability to own projects from design through delivery and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

Lead initiatives to deliver industry-leading search with speed and relevance.
Contribute to Elasticsearch features and fix bugs, possibly inventing data structures.
Work with a globally distributed team focused on vector search capabilities.
Be the expert on Elasticsearch search relevance and drive improvements.
Collaborate with community members on issues and pull requests.
Write idiomatic modern Java; contribute to code quality and maintainability.
