Crypto Finance AG, based in Zurich, seeks a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to own end-to-end QA for its order management, infrastructure, and risk platforms. You will design and implement automated test frameworks, drive CI/CD improvements, and oversee release testing in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in QA, strong Python automation skills, and extensive experience with UI automation tools and API testing. Office on the 24th floor of Prime Tower in Zurich.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer in a small team, this position offers a wide range of topics and numerous opportunities for involvement. The starting date is as soon as possible at our office on the 24th floor of the Prime Tower in Zurich.

Responsibilities

• Take on a key role in the QA team, ensuring the quality and reliability of our custom-built order management, infrastructure, and risk management platforms in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Design, develop, maintain, and continuously improve automated test frameworks, test suites, and quality engineering best practices.
• Drive continuous improvements in test automation, CI/CD pipelines, test coverage, release processes, and overall quality engineering practices.
• Manage the release testing process, executing manual tests, reviewing automated and manual test outcomes, analyzing performance test results, investigating logs for anomalies, and reporting on the overall quality and risk assessment of release candidates.
• Process product reviews, and inform the development team of defects and errors, and communicate quantitative and qualitative findings from test results to the development team. Monitor efforts to resolve product issues and track progress.
• Ensure that the final product satisfies the product requirements and meets end-user expectations.
• Apply a pragmatic approach to quality assurance by balancing manual and automated testing efforts, selecting the most effective testing strategy based on risk, complexity, and business needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with strong expertise in both manual and automated testing.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python, including developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test utilities.
• 5+ years of experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
• Ability to design and implement scalable test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong experience testing REST APIs and microservices using tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and similar API testing solutions.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the software delivery process.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including log analysis and root cause investigation.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum development teams and collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with a test management tool such as TestRail, Zephyr, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, attention to detail, patience, strong documentation abilities, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability with a proactive "get things done" mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of quality initiatives, drive improvements independently, and deliver results in a fast-paced Agile environment with minimal supervision.
• Completed technical degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., Gatling, k6).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud environments, and distributed systems.
• Experience with trading, financial, fintech, or crypto-related applications.
• Familiarity with FIX Protocol, market connectivity, or trading systems.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent QA certification.
