The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (DBA) to design, implement, and operate robust database platforms (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle) within the Platforms team of ITS.

This 3-year fixed-term role emphasizes modernization, containerised deployments on OpenShift, hybrid cloud, automation, and strong security while collaborating with security, infra and application teams.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with relational and cloud-native databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Hands-on cloud, automation, scripting, and IaC with CI/CD concepts.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container management ecosystems.

Aufgaben

• Enable adoption of modern database architecture, including containerised deployments on Open Shift.
• Provide standardised templates and base configurations for availability and scalability.
• Design, implement, and optimise platform components with security and resilience in mind.
• Lead the development of reference architectures and guide technical decisions across domains.
• Execute life-cycle management tasks, maintain observability baselines, and support incidents.
