In this role, you will develop innovative reinsurance solutions, cultivate lasting relationships with clients and brokers, and drive profitable growth across Property, Casualty, and Specialty lines. Working at the heart of our underwriting platform, you will collaborate with experts across the organization, identify new opportunities, and contribute to shaping the future of UNIQA Re's reinsurance business.
What to expect:
- Acquisition and management of profitable reinsurance business with cedants and brokers outside the UNIQA Group
- Underwriting and portfolio management across Property, Casualty and Specialty reinsurance lines
- Analysis of market developments, client needs and competitive dynamics to identify attractive business opportunities
- Building and maintaining long-term commercial relationships with cedants, brokers and business partners
- Development and negotiation of tailored reinsurance solutions in line with client needs and company strategy
- Assessment of business opportunities based on profitability, pricing adequacy, risk profile and strategic fit
- Close collaboration with actuarial, risk management, claims and finance teams to support sound underwriting decisions
- Systematic administration and maintenance of underwriting data, contracts and business documentation
- Ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, authorities, standards and procedures
- Contribution to business development, portfolio steering and digitalization initiatives
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in reinsurance underwriting, ideally within treaty reinsurance or a closely related field
- In-depth knowledge of Property and/or Casualty reinsurance markets and their key dynamics
- A university degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance or a comparable discipline
- A sharp analytical mind, confident negotiation skills and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly
- Advanced MS Excel skills, paired with experience using reinsurance pricing tools and portfolio analytics
- A strong commercial instinct, balanced by disciplined and sound underwriting judgment
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the drive to identify, develop and turn opportunities into sustainable business
- Fluency in English; additional European languages, especially German will help you stand out
