Senior Mechanical Engineer CO2 Compressor – Carbon Capture

Full-time

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the execution of the CO2 compressor
• Define work packages, write specifications for scope and services, prepare request for quotation documents, conduct technical supplier meetings, select suppliers, ensure expedition of lots
• Coordinate and supervise concepts, basic engineering and persuade counterparts even in controversial discussions. Support the team cross-functional in the area of carbon capture. Ensure interfaces and concept requirements of the different systems match each other
• Clarify interfaces with other disciplines (civil, steel structure, construction, electrical & instrumentation, plant layout) and integrate the lot in the plant
• Drive an active collaboration with the plant design (installation of components and pipe routing)
• Ensure supplier compliance and receipt of engineering documents in due time. Check, comment, approve them and distribute to internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure regulatory compliance with respect to the responsible systems (lots)
• Support the construction and commissioning team, mainly from the office
• Willingness to travel 10-20% of your time to suppliers or on site

Qualifications

• Trained Mechanical Engineer (Bachelor or Master degree) with 5+ years’ experience within the power generating and turbo machinery industry
• Experience with one or more types of industrial compressors (axial, centrifugal, reciprocating) is considered an asset
• Solid understanding of different industrial plant processes, mechanical equipment, components and systems
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
