Senior Mechanical Engineer CO2 Compressor – Carbon Capture

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the execution of the CO2 compressor
- Define work packages, write specifications for scope and services, prepare request for quotation documents, conduct technical supplier meetings, select suppliers, ensure expedition of lots
- Coordinate and supervise concepts, basic engineering and persuade counterparts even in controversial discussions. Support the team cross-functional in the area of carbon capture. Ensure interfaces and concept requirements of the different systems match each other
- Clarify interfaces with other disciplines (civil, steel structure, construction, electrical & instrumentation, plant layout) and integrate the lot in the plant
- Drive an active collaboration with the plant design (installation of components and pipe routing)
- Ensure supplier compliance and receipt of engineering documents in due time. Check, comment, approve them and distribute to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure regulatory compliance with respect to the responsible systems (lots)
- Support the construction and commissioning team, mainly from the office
- Willingness to travel 10-20% of your time to suppliers or on site
Qualifications
- Trained Mechanical Engineer (Bachelor or Master degree) with 5+ years’ experience within the power generating and turbo machinery industry
- Experience with one or more types of industrial compressors (axial, centrifugal, reciprocating) is considered an asset
- Solid understanding of different industrial plant processes, mechanical equipment, components and systems
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Strong coordination and negotiating skills paired with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders on different levels (procurement, suppliers, site staff)
- Structured, precise, self-driven, positive, and responsible personality
- Fluency in English, German knowledge is a plus
