Job summary

ABB in Switzerland (Untersiggenthal) seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our battery development team. You will lead mechanical development activities for battery systems and related components across the product lifecycle, owning technical work packages from concept to validation and industrialization.

Collaborate with electrical, systems, manufacturing and quality teams, drive improvements, and support innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Solid experience in the design and development of complex mechanical products and assemblies.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies such as sheet metal forming, extrusion, and injection molding.
• Proven experience working with customers, suppliers, and international project teams.
• Extensive experience with 3D CAD and PLM/PDM systems, ideally PTC Creo and Windchill.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including structural design, material selection, and design for manufacturing.
• Experience in battery systems or energy storage solutions is considered an advantage but is not required.
• Fluent communication skills in both German and English.
