Job summary

Qualifications

• Biological lab tech degree preferred or BSc in biotechnology or related field.
• 5+ years in biotech/pharma with process development and protein analytics.
• Proficiency with U(H)PLC devices and software (Empower, Chromeleon).
• Proficiency with ceSDS and cIEF incl. Maurice devices and iCE Compass.
• Experience with LIMS for method setup and reporting (STARLIMS).
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work autonomously and communicate in English; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform analyses, including data evaluation and reporting via databases and LIMS.
• Assist in interpretation of results.
• Support planning and reporting in analytical focus area.
• Support transfer/hand-over of analytical methods to GMP QC incl. validations.
• Regularly review/update/improve processes and SOPs.
• Work autonomously to meet timelines.
• Drive simple initiatives with limited guidance within the team.
• Follow EHS procedures and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

The Position

Join a diverse and multi-cultural team of scientists and technicians that make a difference with state-of-the-art analytical technologies and instruments within our expanding Biologic Development Center (BDC) at Celonic Basel.The Senior Lab Technician in Analytical Services will be responsible for planning and executing analytical experiments, support or lead problem-solving efforts, and coaching junior members of the team.The ideal candidate will have a high degree of proficiency in U(H)PLC and ceSDS/cIEF methodology and applied other techniques for the characterization of biologics.In this role, you will execute fit-for-purpose analytical methods that support process development and be responsible for implementing GMP-ready methods and supporting their transfer to Quality Control.

Your Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation and performance of analyses including data evaluation and reporting via result databases and LIMS
• Assist in the interpretation of results
• Support planning and reporting in the analytical focus area
• Support in transfer/handover of analytical methods to GMP Quality Control incl. validations
• Regular review/update/improvement of processes and SOPs
• Capable of working autonomously and self-disciplined to meet timelines.
• Drive simple initiatives (in relation to job duties) with limited guidance and supervision within his/her team/group.
• Follows EHS procedures and laboratory safety standards, maintains a clean and safe workspace, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses.

Job Requirements

• Biological laboratory technician degree (preferred) or BSc in Biotechnology or related field
• Biotechnology or Pharma industry experience, ideally CDMO setting with a focus on process development and protein analytics (5+ years)
• Proficient in the use of U(H)PLC devices (Waters, Thermo) and applicable software (Empower, Chromeleon)
• Proficient in the use of ceSDS and cIEF incl. devices (Maurice) and applicable software (iCE Compass)
• Experience in using LIMS for method set up and reporting, ideally STARLIMS
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all tasks
• Well-organized working attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to deal with changes and quickly adjust to new situations
• Collaborative team player
• Confident in the use of the English language (German is a plus)
