The Opportunity Finders is assisting a Swiss IT solutions provider in Zurich to recruit a Senior IT Project Manager for tax solutions. You will lead multi-location software development and integration projects, ensuring delivery within budgets and timelines, while coordinating with public-sector clients and nearshore teams.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in PM, strong German (or C1) and English, and certifications such as HERMES/IPMA/PRINCE2. Experience in tax administration is highly valued.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years in project management, ideally in agile software development.
• Track record leading at least three public-sector projects, each > CHF 1 million.
• At least one project delivered with HERMES; tax administration domain experience.
• PM certifications such as HERMES/IPMA/PRINCE2.
• Experience managing client projects within contractual frameworks.

The Opportunity Finders is recruiting on behalf of an established Swiss IT solutions provider specialising in digital solutions for the public sector. Our client is looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex software development and integration projects within the tax administration domain. This is an opportunity to take ownership of strategic projects, collaborate with public-sector clients and contribute to the ongoing digital transformation of Swiss tax administration.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead complex software development and integration projects for public-sector clients.
• Establish project structures and manage multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations, including nearshore development teams.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, budgets, timelines and quality standards
• Define project management processes, methodologies and governance frameworks.
• Represent projects internally and within client steering committees.
• Coordinate external suppliers and third-party solutions in collaboration with procurement teams.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle

Your Profile

• Native-level German or proven C1 proficiency, combined with good English skills.
• University degree in Computer Science,Information Technology or a comparable qualification.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in project management, ideally within agile software development environments.
• Proven track record of leading at least three projects for public-sector clients, each exceeding CHF 1 million in value.
• At least one project successfully delivered using the HERMES methodology.
• At least one project within the tax administration domain.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss taxation and tax assessment processes.
• Relevant project management certification, such as HERMES, IPMA or PRINCE2. HERMES Advanced certification is highly desirable.
• Experience managing client projects within contractual frameworks.
• Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead distributed teams.
