Merkle is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer - Mobile Apps to join its Zurich team. You will design, develop, and maintain native mobile features for iOS and Android, collaborating with UX/UI, backend engineers, and product owners to deliver high-quality, accessible experiences.

The role requires 5+ years in native mobile development, strong Kotlin/Swift proficiency, and expertise in Jetpack Compose or SwiftUI, with CI/CD and security practices. Multilingual UI experience is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of experience in native mobile development (Android and/or iOS).
• Excellent knowledge of Kotlin (Android) and/or Swift (iOS).
• Solid experience with Jetpack Compose and/or SwiftUI SwiftUI.
• Experience with modern concurrency concepts (coroutines/flow, async/await, combine).
• Sound knowledge of mobile architectures (clean architecture, MVVM, MVI).
• Experience in connecting backend services and API integration.
• Knowledge of testing (unit and UI tests) and quality assurance.
• Experience with build tools and dependency management (Gradle, Swift Package Manager).
• Understanding of security and performance aspects in mobile apps.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and app deployment (App Store / Play Store).

Aufgaben

• Design, develop, and maintain frontend features for our iOS and Android mobile applications
• Implement and extend multilingual (DE/FR/IT/EN) user interfaces using i18n frameworks and localisation best practices
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, accessible components
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews
• Optimise application performance across devices and screen sizes, with a focus on Swiss banking security standards
• Contribute to the shared component library and design system used across all Raiffeisen digital products
• Work in an agile team using Scrum/Kanban, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos
• Coordinate with backend teams to design and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Monitor, debug, and resolve issues in production, ensuring high availability and user satisfaction
• Stay up to date with emerging frontend technologies and champion best practices within the team

Who are we looking for? We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Frontend Engineer - Mobile Apps to join our cross‑functional digital product team. You will play a key role in building and maintaining our customer‑facing applications — spanning iOS, Android. You will work closely with UX designers, backend engineers, and product owners to deliver seamless, high‑quality experiences that meet the highest standards for accessibility, security, and performance.

Your Profile

• Several years of experience (≥5 years) in native mobile development (Android and/or iOS)
• Excellent knowledge of Kotlin (Android) and/or Swift (iOS)
• Solid experience with Jetpack Compose and/or SwiftUI SwiftUI
• Experience with modern concurrency concepts (coroutines/flow, async/await, combine)
• Sound knowledge of mobile architectures (clean architecture, MVVM, MVI)

Languages

• German: Fluent (B2 or above) — working language of the team
• English: Business proficient
