Job summary

Haddonfield School District is seeking an Anticipated Supervisor of Grounds to maintain district facilities, athletic fields, and grounds in excellent condition for education and sports use year-round.

Responsibilities include leading grounds staff, developing agronomic plans for natural grass and synthetic surfaces, managing winter weather response, IPM records, and equipment maintenance, with a twelve-month appointment and a salary range of $83,000–$93,000.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in commercial landscaping, golf course maintenance, or athletic field management with supervisory experience.
• Aptitude in turf management for natural grass and synthetic/artificial surfaces.
• Must obtain NJ pesticide license (3B) and School IPM Coordinator certification within hiring period.
• Must pass criminal history review and have NJ residency or willingness to obtain residency within one year.

Responsibilities

• Oversees agronomic plans for natural grass surfaces (mowing, aeration, overseeding, topdressing, irrigation, fertilization).
• Supervises maintenance on synthetic/turf fields (grooming, decompaction, infill leveling, seam inspection; schedule GMAX testing).
• Develops winter weather response plans (snow/ice removal; plowing, de-icing).
• Maintains IPM logs in compliance with NJDEP School IPM Act with 72-hour notifications.
• Coordinates field marking, line painting, and equipment setup for PE programs and sports teams.
• Operates and maintains grounds equipment, power tools, tractors, mowers, snow attachments.
• Supervises and trains grounds staff; assists Facilities Director with evaluations.
