Job summary

Ameropa, a Swiss agri-business, seeks a Grains & Oilseeds Analyst based in Lausanne to strengthen market intelligence and support commercial decisions across the division. You will conduct fundamental analyses of global grains and oilseeds, monitor supply-demand, and develop dashboards and BI tools.

You’ll collaborate with traders, merchandisers, and senior management, applying data science and AI to generate actionable insights. Fluent English required; further languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in agricultural commodities, market analysis, trading support, research, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of grains and oilseeds markets, supply chains, and global trade flows.
• Proven ability to develop independent market views and translate complex information into actionable business insights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fundamental analysis of global grains and oilseeds markets.
• Monitor supply and demand balances, crop developments, trade flows, weather patterns, and macroeconomic drivers.
• Produce market outlooks, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for management and commercial teams.
• Partner closely with traders and merchandisers to support commercial decision-making.
• Develop and enhance business intelligence tools, dashboards, and management reporting.
• Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, advanced analytics, and data science within commercial activities.
• Present market insights and analytical findings to stakeholders across the business.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Grains & Oilseeds Analyst to strengthen our market intelligence capabilities and support commercial decision-making across the division. Based in our Lausanne office, this role offers broad exposure to global agricultural markets and close collaboration with traders, merchandisers, and senior management.

• Knowledge of Python, SQL, R, AI applications, or advanced analytical tools is an advantage
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset
