About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Treasury Officer to support our group treasury activities, with a strong focus on front-office operations, foreign exchange, short-term investments, and liquidity optimisation. This is an opportunity for a motivated professional with less than 5 years of experience who already has a sound foundation in treasury or financial markets and is keen to deepen their market understanding, judgement, and intuition through active involvement in front-office activities.
The role is primarily focused on front-office and market-facing activities, combining increasing day-to-day ownership with guidance from experienced Treasury colleagues. The successful candidate will contribute actively to FX, investments, funding, market analysis, reporting, and transaction follow-up. Cash-management responsibilities remain limited to backup coverage when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and progressively take ownership of daily FX activities, including exposure monitoring, market analysis, deal preparation, trade entry, confirmations, settlement follow-up, and internal reporting, within established limits and controls
- Monitor and interpret FX rates, interest rates, bank quotes, macroeconomic developments, and market trends, highlighting relevant observations for the Treasury team
- Support short-term investment activities, including obtaining and comparing bank quotes, preparing recommendations, recording transactions, monitoring maturities, and producing related reporting
- Support funding transactions and assess available liquidity, investment, and borrowing alternatives, presenting clear comparisons to senior Treasury colleagues
- Analyse pricing and performance to contribute to the optimisation of FX execution, investment returns, funding costs, and liquidity utilisation
- Provide backup support for daily cash positioning and liquidity monitoring when required, ensuring continuity of core treasury operations
- Provide backup support for cash flow forecasting and short-term liquidity planning when required, primarily to support FX, investment, and funding decisions
- Prepare market summaries, pricing comparisons, and front-office reports, connecting market movements with potential implications for FX, investments, and funding
- Interact directly with banks and trading counterparties to request quotes and follow up on execution, confirmations, documentation, and settlement under established procedures
- Ensure that FX, investment, and funding transactions are accurately recorded in the Treasury Management System (Kyriba)
- Perform transaction checks, investigate confirmation, settlement, and maturity discrepancies, and **escalate** material issues when required
- Support improvements, automation, and standardisation of front-office processes, controls, and reporting
- Follow internal treasury policies, counterparty limits, controls, and approval procedures
- Support treasury projects, testing activities, and system enhancements as required
Profile / Requirements
- Master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Relevant professional experience in treasury, banking, financial markets, or a related finance function, with less than 5 years of total experience
- Strong interest in financial markets, with curiosity about the factors driving currencies, interest rates, investments, and market behaviour
- Good basic understanding of financial markets, FX instruments, money-market products, investments, funding, and liquidity management
- Good knowledge of financial derivatives (such as option and optional strategies) along with their pricing theory (greeks etc)

- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to recognise patterns, connect market information, form and communicate a reasoned view, and continue developing sound market intuition
- Comfortable working with Excel and digital tools; interest in automation, AI, or simple coding is an advantage
- Commodity trading knowledge or experience is a plus.
- Naturally curious about financial markets, proactive in following developments, comfortable expressing a well-supported view, and able to work reliably in a fast-moving treasury environment
