Job summary

Brunel is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer in Switzerland to tackle complex challenges in power electronics and energy technologies. The role emphasizes hands-on electrical design, EPLAN work, and low-voltage systems within an international engineering environment.

You will design schematics, define architectures, and collaborate across electrical, software, controls, and mechanical disciplines to deliver complete electrical solutions from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with EPLAN.
• Solid knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and components.
• Experience with electrical calculations, cable sizing, protection concepts, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within international engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics for power electronics converter systems using EPLAN.
• Define electrical architectures, interfaces, and system concepts.
• Select and specify electrical equipment, including breakers, contactors, power supplies, protection devices, and LV/MV cabling.
• Perform electrical calculations, cable sizing, load calculations, and circuit analysis.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, electrical schematics, BOMs, specifications, and design reports.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, software, controls, power electronics, and mechanical disciplines.
• Support testing, validation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and customer requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
