Expleo is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to detailed electrical design for industrial and pharmaceutical facilities in Switzerland. You will produce wiring diagrams and power distribution studies, ensuring accurate documentation for project scopes.

Overview

Electrical Design Engineer (M/F)

Context

On behalf of a major international player in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, we are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to electrical engineering projects for complex industrial facilities.

Integrated within the Engineering teams, you will be involved in the design of electrical infrastructure, power distribution networks, backup power supplies, and the various systems required to support production facilities.

This position is intended for an engineer with a strong focus on detailed electrical design, capable of producing and updating electrical drawings and technical documentation. Profiles whose experience is primarily focused on maintenance, commissioning, or site supervision will not match the requirements of this role.

Your Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering & Design

• Design and develop electrical infrastructure for industrial and pharmaceutical facilities.
• Perform electrical distribution network studies, particularly for low-voltage systems.
• Participate in the sizing of electrical installations and the specification of equipment according to project requirements.
• Design power supply systems and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
• Contribute to the definition of power circuits, protection systems, and interfaces with industrial equipment.
• Develop wiring diagrams, power circuits, and electrical infrastructure documentation according to project scope.
• Study interfaces with instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
• Contribute to the analysis of technical, safety, and power continuity requirements.

Documentation & Technical Deliverables

• Produce and update electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare cable lists, technical specifications, and associated design documentation.
• Document power distribution networks, electrical equipment, and UPS systems.
• Ensure consistency between drawings, technical lists, and project specifications.
• Incorporate modifications and comments arising from engineering reviews.
• Maintain accurate and reliable technical documentation to support project execution.

Coordination & Project Support

• Collaborate with Instrumentation, Automation, Process, Construction, and other Engineering disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with project stakeholders.
• Follow up on technical comments and contribute to the resolution of engineering issues.
• Ensure compliance with site standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Provide technical support to project teams during construction and execution phases when required.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Approximately 4 to 20 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering.
• Hands-on experience in detailed electrical design engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
• Good understanding of low-voltage power distribution networks, UPS systems, and electrical infrastructure.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, or process industries is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently on engineering studies and technical deliverables.
• Knowledge of Swiss electrical standards and safety requirements would be an advantage.
• Professional proficiency in English is required; German language skills are a plus.
