Job summary

Papers is seeking a skilled DevOps/SRE professional to own and evolve our Linux-based infrastructure in a distributed environment. You will manage CI/CD pipelines, container deployments, and security hardening while collaborating with backend teams to improve delivery.

The role requires initiative, independent work, and strong English communication. In this position, you’ll operate a modern observability stack, manage identity and access through Azure AD, and participate in on-call rotations to

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles.
• Proficient with Linux/Ubuntu administration on self-managed servers.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows (GitLab CI).
• Hands-on with infrastructure-as-code (Ansible).
• Strong networking, TLS, firewalls, and VPN concepts.
• Security-focused: MFA/SSO, least privilege, patching.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Self-driven and independent work style.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve self-hosted Linux-based infrastructure on bare-metal servers.
• Keep servers patched and maintain self-hosted applications.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI.
• Set up and optimize Docker and Docker Compose deployments.
• Automate provisioning with Ansible.
• Define backup and disaster-recovery strategies.
• Operate observability stack: Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana; write runbooks.
• Administer Microsoft 365 / Entra ID; manage MFA, CA, SSO, security.
• Own security posture: host hardening, firewalls, secrets management.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical services.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to streamline delivery.
• Identify and automate repetitive tasks.
