Job summary

Trust in SODA, a prominent Swiss bank, seeks a Senior Data Engineer / Data Warehouse Architect to own the warehouse architecture in a central Switzerland hybrid role. You will guide the team through modernisation from Data Vault 2.0 on Azure toward a cloud data platform with AI analytics possibilities.

You’ll lead data modeling standards, optimize history and quality, and collaborate with BI teams and stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.

Qualifications

• Senior data engineer or DWH architect with proven track record in data platforms.
• Experience delivering SQL-based data pipelines in production.
• Ability to lead engineering standards and design reviews.
• Databricks or Snowflake exposure is a plus.
• Fluent German language required.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture for the data warehouse and steer key technical decisions.
• Strengthen and extend the existing Data Vault 2.0 model, focusing on history, data quality and performance.
• Set and enforce engineering standards, and lead code and design reviews.
• Develop and tune data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SQL.
• Mature CI/CD and automated testing in Azure DevOps.
• Assess modern platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake) and shape migration paths.
• Partner with product owners, business stakeholders and BI teams on data initiatives.

Senior Data Engineer / Data Warehouse Architect

A well-established Swiss bank is modernising its data platform and needs a senior technical leader to own the data warehouse architecture and guide the team through the next phase.

The opportunity

This is a hands‑on technical lead role in a small, collaborative data team. You’ll be the go‑to authority on data modelling and architecture, working closely with the team lead on platform direction. The current platform is built on Data Vault 2.0 and Azure, with a clear roadmap towards a modern cloud data platform and future AI and analytics use cases.

What you’ll do

• Own the target architecture for the data warehouse and steer key technical decisions
• Strengthen and extend the existing Data Vault 2.0 model, with a focus on history, data quality and performance

• Develop and tune data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SQL
