Job summary

Machine Learning Architects Basel (MLAB) is seeking a German-speaking Senior Data Engineering Consultant to join our dynamic services team. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of client projects, from consulting and design to implementation and operationalization of data pipelines and ML/LLM integrations.

You will analyze requirements, develop best-fit solutions, and contribute to blueprints for Reliable Data Products and Data Mesh.

Qualifications

Professional experience (minimum 5 years) as a Data or Software Engineer with a focus on data and ML systems.
Experience with data/AI platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, MS Fabric).
Familiarity with DataOps, Data Mesh concepts, Data Lakes/Warehouses, and Reliability Engineering.
End-to-end project lifecycle understanding: data, code, models, and pipelines with stakeholder collaboration.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, SQL/NoSQL, REST APIs, and CI/CD.
Fluency in German and English (written and spoken); Swiss/EU work eligibility.

Responsibilities

Consulting, engineering, and training to help clients master digital transformations with data/AI.
Analyze customer requirements and define best-fit data/AI solutions.
Design, build, integrate, and test data pipelines and platforms; ensure reliability and scalability.
Contribute to solution blueprints and concepts like Reliable Data Products and Data Mesh.
Provide expertise and thought leadership in Data Platforms, Data Products, and DataOps.
Owns results, communicates with stakeholders, and collaborates with client teams.
