Role: Expert Data Engineer

As an Expert Data Engineer, you are a key player in designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures. You work closely with clients to understand their data needs and realise tailored solutions that drive business insights.

Responsibilities

Whether in the cloud or an on‑premises data center, you expertly navigate the world of Big Data, helping our clients make their data business- or operations‑ready.

You access diverse data sources efficiently and reproducibly.

You design, test, and monitor distributed data processing pipelines.

You work closely with data scientists in the creation of machine learning models.

You perform performance and cost estimations for various use cases.

You develop and create meaningful dashboards to visualise processed data.

Qualifications

• Comfortable with Big Data, massively scalable databases, cloud infrastructures, and distributed algorithms.
• Passion for sustainable software development and several years of experience in technical roles.
• Strong experience in Python and SQL; strong interest or hands‑on experience with Hadoop, Apache Spark, Hive, Airflow, RDBMS, NoSQL, DevOps, Kubernetes, and Java or .NET.
• Good understanding of large public cloud environments; experience with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• University degree (ETH, Uni, FH) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar field.
• Fluency in German and English.
