Job summary

Valantic is seeking a Senior Data & AI Engineer – Snowflake (all genders) to lead architecture and implementation of modern data platforms on Snowflake from design to production. You will build scalable pipelines using SQL, Python/Snowpark, and dbt, and integrate SAP/CRM streams while applying Cortex AI capabilities.

You will drive best practices, cost optimization, and CI/CD/IaC automation, coaching colleagues and expanding the Snowflake community across the DACH region.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science or a comparable qualification, with at least 6 years of data engineering experience.
• Multiple Snowflake projects in a key role, including cross-department platforms or migrations from legacy systems.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with dbt and modern data modeling (star schema, Data Vault).
• Experience with data integration/orchestration (Airflow, Dagster, Fivetran, Openflow) and CI/CD/IaC.
• Experience with at least one hyperscaler (AWS/Azure) and Snowflake Cortex or Snowpark ML is a plus.
• Fluency in German and English.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement modern data platforms on Snowflake from target architecture to production operations.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and establish Snowflake best practices.
• Build scalable data pipelines with SQL, Python/Snowpark and dbt, integrate source systems (SAP, CRM, streaming).
• Automate deployments with CI/CD and IaC; coach colleagues and grow the Snowflake community in DACH.
• Lead workshops/PoCs, estimate effort and shape proposals for sales/presales.
