Flyability, a Swiss drone robotics company based in Lausanne, is hiring a Senior UX/UI Designer (100%). You will own and elevate the user experience across our ecosystem, from drone-pilot app to data-processing software, shaping a unified design language.

As the first dedicated design hire, you will establish a design culture, work with product managers and engineers, and drive a data-informed, outcome-focused design process with autonomy and strong communication.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of product design experience, including senior or lead ownership of a product's UX/UI.
• Portfolio shows range from early-stage UX exploration to final UI.
• Hands-on experience building a design system from scratch at scale.
• Proven experience planning and running usability tests (moderated/remote and in-person).
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills, comfortable explaining design rationale to engineers/product managers.
• Ability to work autonomously as the first design hire.

Senior UX/UI Designer (100%)

Your role:

To own and elevate the user experience across our entire ecosystem, from the app which pilots use when flying the drone to the software they use on their desktop before and after flights to process and make sense of data.

As our first dedicated design hire, you will establish a strong, unified design culture. You will thrive in a low-ego, evidence-based environment where continuous discovery and data-driven decisions translate into outcome-focused requirements.

What you will own:

• Product Ideation & Wireframing: Get involved early in the product discovery phase to map out user journeys, explore alternative UX approaches via wireframes or vibe-coded prototypes when relevant, advocating for the ideal user experience before locking down high-fidelity designs.
• End-to-End Interface Design: Deliver clear, pixel-perfect mockups and dynamic UI prototypes, ensuring developers have precise specifications before development begins.
• Design System Ownership: Create and maintain a global design system from the ground up to ensure consistency and streamline designer-to-developer workflows.
• Usability Testing: Execute usability tests online and in the field to identify UX hurdles and validate ideas directly with customers.

To achieve this, you will partner with Product Managers and Engineers to navigate technical constraints and deliver measurable business outcomes without sacrificing the user experience.

Requirements

Your profile:

• 5+ years of product design experience, including senior or lead-level ownership of a product's UX/UI, ideally in a B2B, SaaS, or hardware-adjacent software context.
• A portfolio that shows range, from early-stage UX exploration (journey maps, wireframes, flows) through to final, developer-ready UI
• Hands-on experience building a design system from scratch in a way that scales across multiple products or platforms.
• Proven experience planning and running usability tests, both moderated/remote and in-person or field settings, and translating findings into design decisions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills, comfortable explaining design rationale to engineers and product managers, and holding your ground on UX without being precious about it.
• Ability to work autonomously, as the first design hire, you'll set direction without an existing design team to lean on, so self-sufficiency matters as much as skill.
