Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is proud to partner with our Manufacturing related client in the search for a Senior Category Manager, a newly opened position based in Basel, Switzerland.

This is a high-impact opportunity to join a growing business at the heart of its European operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing strategic procurement across indirect categories, with a strong focus on outsourcing, subcontracting, and third-party services.

This is a rare chance to shape category strategy in a high-complexity, compliance-driven environment, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including inventory, MRO, engineering, and supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sourcing strategies across selected indirect and technical categories, with a particular focus on outsourcing and subcontracting
• Lead supplier negotiations and selection processes in alignment with CAPEX and MRO objectives
• Collaborate with engineering, planning, and supply chain teams to ensure continuity, compliance, and cost control
• Analyze spend data, monitor supplier performance, and support cost-saving initiatives across procurement operations
• Contribute to the development of procurement policy, category frameworks, and vendor governance models

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Procurement, ideally within aerospace, manufacturing, or technical services
• Proven track record in category management, with experience in outsourcing, subcontracting, or third-party service procurement
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills in a matrix or regulated environment
• ERP systems experience (SAP preferred), and comfort working with data and reporting tools
• Fluency in English is required; German or French language skills are highly desirable
• Candidates must be based in or around Basel due to the onsite nature of this role (limited remote work available)
