Job summary

Alpinum Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer for a Basel-based assignment. You will monitor AML alerts, conduct KYC reviews, and assess high-risk client relationships in a fast-paced financial services environment.

The role requires in-depth knowledge of Swiss AML regulations and FINMA requirements, plus strong German and English skills. The position is temporary with hybrid Basel work arrangements and opportunities to influence regulatory compliance outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven compliance experience in banking/financial services.
• Strong practical knowledge of AML, KYC, EDD, sanctions screening and financial crime compliance.
• Good understanding of Swiss AML regulation and FINMA requirements.
• Experience reviewing complex client relationships and high-risk transactions.
• Academic background in Law, Business, Finance or related field and/or relevant compliance certification.
• German and English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate AML alerts and support timely resolution of compliance cases.
• Conduct client screening and background checks covering sanctions, PEP and adverse media findings.
• Perform KYC reviews and assess high-risk client relationships, transactions, source of funds and source of wealth.
• Review client documentation and complex ownership structures for completeness and regulatory alignment.
• Prepare clear EDD reports, risk assessments and recommendations for further action.
