Job summary

Axelera AI is seeking a Senior AI Application Engineer to own LLM and VLM support on Metis and Europa AIPUs, from model study to shipping features in the Voyager SDK. The role blends AI model expertise with practical software engineering and hands-on use of AI coding agents to build, test and verify work.

You will work with the team to bring up production-ready components, design robust contracts, and contribute to a GenAI roadmap for edge devices and accelerator hardware.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ML inference focus.

Responsibilities

• Study new LLM and VLM families and architectures and prototype on Metis and Europa.
• Turn results into Voyager SDK features with stable APIs, tests, and release gates.
• Define PyTorch reference with quantization and weight mapping for each building block and hand to compiler team.
• Integrate LLM/VLM serving into Voyager SDK pipeline builder: prefill, decode, KV-cache, streaming output and multimodal inputs.
• Measure accuracy against reference and explain gaps with counterparts.
• Extend model enablement platform to include environments with compiler, runtime and hardware access.
• Advise on GenAI direction for Voyager SDK, agents and edge-device speech and demos.
