Job summary

Pilatus Aircraft, based in Switzerland, seeks an experienced structural engineer specializing in aerospace stress analysis. You will perform classical stress analyses and FEA for metallic aircraft structures, develop substantiation documents, and support CS-23 certification activities.

Collaboration with design, certification, and multidisciplinary teams is essential as is interface with suppliers and authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Around 5+ years of experience in aerospace stress analysis, including metallic aircraft structures.
• Proficiency with FEA tools such as NASTRAN, FEMAP, or comparable analysis software.
• Knowledge of CS-23 certification requirements; cabin or cockpit structures experience is advantageous.
• Strong engineering judgement and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication skills in English (C1) written and spoken; German would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform classical stress analyses and finite element analyses (FEA) for primary and secondary metallic aircraft structures
• Develop stress reports, structural substantiation documents, test plans, and test reports to support certification activities
• Support compliance demonstration activities in accordance with CS-23 certification requirements
• Collaborate with design, certification, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve structural challenges
• Interface with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and airworthiness authorities throughout the development process
• Take ownership of structural topics within a fast-paced and evolving aircraft development project
