Avacone seeks an experienced SAP BusinessObjects Consultant to design, develop, and support enterprise reporting on the SAP BO platform. You will partner with business stakeholders to define needs and deliver trusted reports.

Responsibilities include building WebI reports, designing universes with IDT, optimizing query performance, and coordinating UAT and promotions across environments. Fluency in English required; Basel location preferred.

Qualificações

• 3+ years hands-on SAP BusinessObjects BI experience including WebI report development and production support.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting universes in IDT/UDT.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational data models and performance.

Role Overview

We are looking for an SAP BusinessObjects Consultant to design, develop, and support enterprise reporting solutions on the SAP BusinessObjects BI platform. You will work with business stakeholders to define reporting needs, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver reports that users can trust and maintain. The role combines hands‑on development in Web Intelligence and universe design with troubleshooting and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discussions with business users to define KPIs, reporting logic, data sources, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (WebI) reports, including prompts, variables, calculations, and drill‑down functionality.
• Design and maintain universes using Information Design Tool (IDT). Define joins, contexts, measures, and business objects to support consistent reporting.
• Validate report outputs against source systems and investigate discrepancies in collaboration with business and data teams.
• Diagnose and resolve report performance, data connectivity, scheduling, and access issues. Work with platform administrators when resolution requires configuration changes.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and support the promotion of reports and universes across development, test, and production environments.
• Document reporting logic, universe design, and operational procedures. Provide training and handover to business users and support teams.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with SAP BusinessObjects BI, including Web Intelligence report development and production support.
• Practical experience designing and troubleshooting universes in Information Design Tool (IDT).
• Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of relational data models, joins, aggregation, and query performance.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and independently validate reporting results.
• Working knowledge of BI Launch Pad, report scheduling, and BusinessObjects security concepts.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain data and reporting issues to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience reporting on SAP BW, SAP BW/4HANA, or SAP HANA data sources.
• Familiarity with the Central Management Console (CMC), Promotion Management, or SAP BusinessObjects upgrades and migrations.
• Experience maintaining legacy .unv universes in Universe Design Tool (UDT) or converting them to .unx.
• Experience with SAP Crystal Reports or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
