About Flybotix: Flybotix is a recognized Swiss robotics scale-up (based near Lausanne) building the ASIO indoor-inspection drone, which keeps humans out of hazardous confined spaces while delivering 20+ minutes of visual inspection for sewer, hydro power, oil & gas, maritime and chemical-plant applications.

Role

As a hands-on Robotics Software Engineer (Ground Control & Onboard Systems), you shape the embedded and mobile software powering the drones and ground control stations, directly impacting autonomous navigation, real-time control and user experience.

Responsibilities
  • build and enhance the ground control station GUI with real-time telemetry and data visualization;
  • design and maintain onboard-computer embedded software for collecting, recording and streaming inspection data;
  • fine-tune system performance with software and firmware engineers;
  • develop the communication protocols linking drone, ground station and cloud;
  • optimize for memory-efficient, reliable operation in resource-constrained environments;
  • uphold code quality via unit testing, CI/CD and reviews;
  • and contribute to architectural decisions.
Profile
  • 5+ years in embedded and mobile software for robotics/drones/real-time applications;
  • strong Rust for performance-critical components;
  • C++ for embedded;
  • expertise in ROS2 and gstreamer;
  • familiarity with embedded Linux, containerization, ARM systems and video encoding/decoding;
  • GUI development (egui/Qt) and 3D visualization (OpenGL/Vulkan/game engines);
  • strong performance-optimization and debugging skills;
  • excellent English (French a plus).

Nice to have: PX4/ArduPilot, CUDA/OpenCL (NVIDIA Jetson), game-engine experience, open-source contributions.
