Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW seeks a Scientific Associate in Resorbable Polymers to drive research on biodegradable polymers for coatings and medical devices. You will synthesize and characterize polymers, spin fibers, and explore biomedical applications in collaboration with an industry partner.

The role includes publishing, patent activity, market analysis, prototype validation, and supervising Bachelor/Master students while maintaining hands-on lab responsibility.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Textile Engineering, or related field; PhD preferred in resorbable polymers.
• Proven experience in synthesis and processing of resorbable polymers, fiber spinning, and polymer characterization.
• Hands-on laboratory experience; industry experience desirable.
• Excellent English; German is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Develop new resorbable polymers for coatings and medical devices.
• Perform polymer synthesis, processing and characterization including fiber spinning and electrospinning.
• Advance biomedical applications: sutures, tissue engineering, medical textiles.
• Publish scientific results, manage patents, perform market analyses, and validate prototypes.
• Supervise Bachelor and Master projects and oversee lab equipment.
