Your profile

• You have a university-level master's degree in computer science.
• Desirable: previous publications in journals or conferences (ACM/IEEE).
• You have an excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Desirable: good command of German language.
• You have an independent, structured way of working, and the ability to independently manage your time to meet deadlines.
• You enjoy hands-on work and prototyping with real-world devices and sensors.
• You have a good knowledge of programming languages C/C++ and Python.
• Desirable: knowledge in programming hardware boards (MCUs).
• You have knowledge of Linux-based and Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Desirable: knowledge of low-level interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, BLE).
• You have networking knowledge.
• Desirable: experience with protocols for constrained networks (LoRa, CoAP, Zigbee, MQTT).

The Embedded Sensing Group (ESG) is part of the Institute of Computer Science Vorarlberg (ICV-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). As of today, sensors are a major interface translating the physical into the digital world.
