Job summary

PROSTAFF Schweiz GmbH seeks a Senior / Principal Agentic AI & CI/CD Software Engineer to drive a strategic Agentic Engineering initiative in Switzerland. The role focuses on secure, scalable, and repeatable engineering practices for AI agent capabilities, modernising software delivery, and measurable productivity gains across the development lifecycle.

The candidate will establish governance for agent skills, implement secure CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with architects and engineering teams

Qualifications

• Experience in designing, implementing and optimising secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven governance and quality controls for AI agent skills and engineering workflows.
• Strong understanding of software supply chain security and dependencies management.
• Advanced knowledge of GitHub/Bitbucket ecosystems and repository APIs.
• Ability to work independently in complex enterprise engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Establish secure, repeatable processes for validating, reviewing, approving and publishing AI agent skills.
• Implement governance and quality controls for agent skills and related engineering workflows.
• Demonstrate a complete skill lifecycle, including version management and rollback capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with internal security guidelines and engineering standards.
• Design, implement and optimise secure CI/CD pipelines and reusable workflows.
• Develop automated quality gates, validation mechanisms and secure deployment processes.
• Work with containers, runners, scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Implement security controls for dependencies, packages, secrets and access permissions.

Job description

For a leading Swiss organisation, we are looking for an experienced Senior / Principal Agentic AI & CI/CD Software Engineer to support a strategic Agentic Engineering initiative.

The project focuses on establishing secure, scalable and repeatable engineering practices for AI agent capabilities, modernising software delivery processes, and improving engineering productivity through automation and measurable development metrics.

The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on CI/CD engineering expertise with a solid understanding of software supply chain security, GitHub/Bitbucket ecosystems and emerging Agentic AI development practices.

The assignment is structured into two phases:

• Phase 1 (November–December 2026): Initial implementation, validation and delivery of key engineering capabilities.
• Phase 2 (January–March 2027): Continuous improvement, integration enhancements and optimisation based on pilot feedback

Agentic AI Skills & Lifecycle Management

• Establish secure and repeatable processes for validating, reviewing, approving and publishing AI agent skills.

CI/CD Engineering & DevSecOps

• Design, implement and optimise secure CI/CD pipelines and reusable workflows.

• Implement security controls for dependencies, packages, secrets and access permissions.
• Improve developer experience and engineering productivity through automation.

GitHub, Bitbucket & Engineering Metrics

• Extract, process and analyse repository data using GitHub and Bitbucket APIs.
• Support the migration and preservation of Bitbucket repository history, including commits, pull requests, reviews and associated metadata.
• Establish reproducible engineering performance baselines.
• Develop and validate aggregated SDLC and DORA metrics, including lead time, review performance and quality indicators.
• Ensure exported repository information remains accessible, consistent and verifiable.

Engineering Scaffold & Integration

• Contribute hands-on engineering improvements to an existing development scaffold and tooling ecosystem.

• Develop and test targeted integrations and workflow enhancements.

• Collaborate with internal architects and engineering teams to ensure architectural alignment.

• Translate pilot feedback into prioritised technical improvements.

• Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer and structured handover.

• Several years of professional experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps or CI/CD Engineering.

• Strong hands-on expertise in building and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines.

• Advanced knowledge of GitHub, Bitbucket, Git workflows and repository APIs.

• Practical experience with reusable workflows, runners, containers, scripting and Infrastructure as Code.

• Solid understanding of DevSecOps and software supply chain security.

• Experience with dependency validation, trusted sources, secrets management, access controls and secure automation.

• Proven ability to extract, transform and analyse software development metrics, including SDLC and DORA indicators.

• Strong troubleshooting, integration and technical documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently in complex enterprise engineering environments.

• English proficiency at C1 level or higher.

• Availability during Swiss business hours.
