The Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB) at ITU is seeking a roster Editing Consultant to perform detailed editorial reviews of ITU-T publications, primarily technical Recommendations, in English.

Under the Head of the Editing Unit, duties include copy-editing, applying ITU-T style guides, checking layout, improving readability, ensuring typographic conventions, and collaborating remotely with teams.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications or related field, or equivalent combination with 5 years of qualifying work experience.
• Knowledge of English at advanced level; knowledge of another official UN language would be an advantage.
• Experience in editing or drafting technical telecommunications documents (3+ years).

Aufgaben

• Copy-edit ITU-T publications of a technical and specialized nature to improve quality.
• Check adherence to ITU-T editing norms and style guides.
• Review layout and typography, and suggest corrections to align with presentation standards.
• Ensure consistency and language improvements; coordinate with Editing Unit head for ambiguities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and remote collaboration tools; work with teams remotely.
