Job summary

Partner Company in Switzerland is seeking a Backend QA Engineer to own software quality across a high-traffic backend platform. You will combine manual testing with automated test development using TypeScript and Playwright to validate complex transactions and API integrations.

Work remotely within Europe, collaborating with distributed engineering teams. You will develop automated regression suites, perform API and data validations, and help improve QA practices as the platform scales.

Qualifications

• Four+ years in manual and automated software testing.
• Hands-on TS and Playwright for automated tests.
• Experience with API testing and Postman; familiarity with test management tools.
• Docker know-how to run services locally; basic SQL for data checks.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute end-to-end tests for transaction lifecycles and API integrations.
• Develop and maintain automated regression suites with TypeScript and Playwright.
• Automate API tests and validate REST and gRPC endpoints.
• Test event-driven architectures with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS; verify retries and duplicates.
• Perform manual testing when needed and document defects in Jira.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to improve coverage and quality.
