Job summary

UNICEF Office of Emergency Programmes in Geneva seeks an experienced consultant to advance Africa Strategy and engage with the African Union Commission on the AfHA. You will translate strategic direction into a coherent EMOPS engagement framework, positioning UNICEF, building partnerships and guiding programmatic approaches grounded in ownership and One UNICEF principles.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include an advanced degree or an equivalent combination with substantial relevant experience.
• 10+ years in humanitarian policy, strategy development or related fields.
• Fluency in English; French is a strong asset; knowledge of another AU or UN language desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic analysis and coordination to advance UNICEF Africa Strategy within EMOPS.
• Shape engagement with the African Union Commission and operationalise AfHA.
• Translate strategy into an engagement framework, partnerships and programmatic approaches.
