Job summary

Biogen in Switzerland seeks a Regional Medical Lead, Nephrology, to provide strategic medical leadership across the nephrology portfolio, shaping regional strategy, evidence generation, launch readiness, and lifecycle management.

You will partner with affiliates and cross-functional teams to ensure regional perspectives inform global plans, and you will build relationships with medical experts, societies, and patient groups to advance priorities and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced medical or scientific degree required (MD/PhD/PharmD).
• 10+ years pharma/biotech industry experience, with Medical Affairs leadership.
• Experience across affiliate and regional/global environments.
• Experience developing Medical Affairs strategies across pipeline, launch, and established stages.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders within a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional medical strategy and execution across the nephrology portfolio, ensuring affiliate needs and evidence requirements are reflected in Global/PDC plans and lifecycle activities.
• Provide regional medical leadership and input to clinical development, evidence generation, publication planning, lifecycle management, and launch activities.
• Lead or support regional medical initiatives, including advisory boards, medical education, scientific communications, and collaborative research.
• Partner with affiliates and cross-functional teams across Medical, Commercial, CE&O, Corporate Affairs, and Value & Access to ensure a consistent medical voice.
• Identify evidence, access, and patient journey gaps across the Region and provide strategic recommendations to address unmet needs and optimize patient outcomes.
• Build and maintain partnerships with key medical experts, healthcare providers, affiliates, external stakeholders to generate insights informing regional strategy and medical execution.
• Support the development and execution of regional medical plans aligning with Global/PDC priorities across evidence generation, launch readiness, medical education, and scientific engagement.
• Partner with Clinical Development, Operations, and Global/PDC teams to integrate regional perspectives into development programs and site engagement strategies.
• Lead regional medical training and scientific communication initiatives guaranteeing consistent understanding of the therapeutic area narrative across affiliates.
