Job summary

Traila in Regensdorf is seeking an Industrial Software Engineer for railway applications (80-100%). You will design, implement and maintain robust software for industrial and railway products, interfacing with real hardware and various industrial protocols.

Travel to customer sites for commissioning and field tests is possible. The role requires strong programming skills in C++, C#, Python and hands-on experience with embedded systems and railway software lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or related field.
• Hands-on professional software development in industrial/automation environments.
• Proven railway software experience with products in service.
• Strong programming skills in C++, C#, Python; not required to be expert in every language.
• Experience interacting with real hardware and deployed systems.
• Railway software lifecycle experience per EN 50716/2023; EN 50128/50657 valuable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain robust application software for industrial and railway products.
• Translate system requirements into software functionality and integrate with real hardware.
• Interface software with sensors, actuators, controllers and DAQ systems.
• Implement interfaces (CAN/CANopen, EtherCAT, TCP/IP and others) and troubleshoot protocols.
• Develop tests and contribute to validation activities including field testing and commissioning.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to strengthen code quality and ownership across the team.
