Zusammenfassung

Hexagon AB's Infrastructure & Geospatial Business Area is seeking an experienced RF engineer to join a team of 20 electronics engineers. You will develop wireless systems for high-precision surveying instruments and autonomous solutions, from concept to series production.

Requirements include MSc or BSc in Electrical Engineering or related field, 8+ years in wireless/RF, and proficiency in English and German. Relocation support and international collaboration are offered.

Hexagon’s Infrastructure & Geospatial Business Area combines measurement, positioning, and mapping technologies to help geodata-dependent industries capture, measure, and visualise the physical world - turning data into actionable insights for better decisions and greater efficiency.

As part of our team of 20 Electronics Engineers you will not only have the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects and next-generation products, but you will also be able to contribute your RF system expertise within the team and benefit from a wide range of in-house skills.

You will develop and integrate wireless technologies for high-precision surveying instruments, autonomous systems and digital reality solutions used worldwide.

  • You define wireless system architectures, select and qualify suitable RF modules, antennas and components for next-generation products.
  • You create antenna concepts, review schematics, PCB layouts and design, lead antenna integration activities to optimize wireless performance.
  • You translate product requirements into specifications such as RF link budgets, measurable performance targets and verification strategies.
  • You optimize wireless performance in terms of communication range, wireless technologies coexistence, data throughput, latency and energy consumption while considering product cost and competitiveness.
  • You support wireless regulatory compliance, global certification and MNO approval activities.
  • You contribute to technology scouting, team competence development and the wireless technology roadmap.
  • You support product lifecycle activities including production, service and field troubleshooting.

This is you

  • MSc or BSc in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, RF Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience developing wireless or RF-enabled products from concept to series production.
  • Strong practical knowledge of wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, WLAN, NFC, GNSS, Cellular.
  • Solid experience in wireless system architecture, antenna integration and RF fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment and wireless performance evaluation.
  • Understanding of embedded software and wireless protocol stacks.
  • Experience with RF simulation and modelling tools or GNSS technologies is an advantage.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership, proactive execution and technical leadership in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication in English and German.
