Job summary

Nestlé Product Technology Center for Coffee in Orbe, Switzerland, is seeking an enthusiastic R&D Data Science Intern for a 6-month internship with hybrid work arrangements. You will collaborate across Nestlé research facilities, contribute to data-driven tooling, and gain mentorship to jump-start your career in AI, data science and coffee innovation.

You will help design research tools, build models, and deliver dashboards while being part of a global team.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R and ability to build clear, maintainable solutions.
• Knowledge of data science, machine learning, computer vision and cloud-based application development.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital tools enabling researchers and product developers to work more effectively.
• Build computer vision models that characterize products and extract information.
• Create reliable data pipelines turning experimental data into usable insights.
• Deliver automated reports and clear dashboards supporting evidence-based decisions.
• Document reusable code and share solutions with colleagues across R&D teams.

The Nestlé Product Technology Center for Coffee is a global center of expertise for coffee and beverage innovation. Our teams in Konolfingen, Orbe, Singapore and Marysville lead coffee and beverage research and development for Nestlé markets worldwide.

As a R&D Data Science Intern, you will contribute to innovative projects across various Nestlé research and development facilities. Collaborating with Nestlé experts, you will help design the research tools of the future, contributing to advancements in data science and technology. • Developing digital tools that enable researchers and product developers to work more effectively.

What will make you successful

• Current student or fresh graduate in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field
• Bringing strong programming skills in Python or R and the ability to build clear, maintainable solution
• Applying knowledge of data science, machine learning, computer vision and cloud-based application development.
• Being proactive, resourceful and curious, with the autonomy to solve problems and the openness to collaborate.
• Fluency in English, French would be an asset.
• Demonstrating courage, collaboration, speed and continuous learning, while translating ideas into measurable impact and creating shared value.
