ABB High Power drives team in Switzerland seeks a senior leader to guide a group of R&D professionals focused on control hardware for Medium Voltage Drives. You will manage PCBAs, electronics, FPGA solutions and associated control systems within a hybrid work model.

You will drive requirements, design, testing, and lifecycle management, coordinating with Product Management, Service and Product Engineering across global sites. English is essential; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Strong background in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven track record with PCBA and Electronics development.
• Experience in project management and/or electronics development.
• Well-developed organizational and strategic abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
• Excellent command of English, preferably complemented by German.

This position reports to: R&D Department Lead

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Research and Development (R&D) employees in the field of Control Hardware for Medium Voltage Drives. The team consists of experts responsible for developing and managing the life cycle of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), electronics, FPGA solutions, and auxiliary control systems.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the Motion High Power Solutions portfolio in Switzerland. You will work closely with key stakeholders in Product Management, Service and Product Engineering.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Manage, guide, and supervise a team of control hardware and firmware experts who are responsible for Medium Voltage Drives
• Coordinate activities related to the electronics development process: Requirements engineering, design, implementation, tests, and maintenance
• Ensure effective and efficient operational procedures in all dealings with other local and global R&D and engineering teams
• Perform line management duties such as hiring, HR development and coordination of various tasks at team level

Qualifications For The Role
