Job summary

ABB sucht einen Supplier Quality Engineer in Schaffhausen zur Implementierung der lokalen Qualitätsstrategie und zur Förderung einer starken Qualitätskultur. Sie qualifizieren Lieferanten, überwachen deren Leistung und arbeiten plattformübergreifend an Verbesserungen, um weltklasse Ergebnisse sicherzustellen.

Sie arbeiten in einem hybriden Modell, unterstützen APQP/PPAP-Prozesse und steuern First Article Inspections sowie QUAL- und CAPA-Aktivitäten.

Qualifications

• Bachelorabschluss in Ingenieurwesen oder vergleichbare Berufserfahrung
• Gute Englisch- und Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
• Erfahrung im Lieferantenqualitätsmanagement und Audits (ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, IATF 16949)
• Kenntnisse in APQP/PPAP und FAI
• Problemlösung mittels 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa
• Kenntnisse statistischer Qualitätsmethoden (SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R)
• Verständnis technischer Zeichnungen, GD&T, Material-/Bauteilspezifikationen

Responsibilities

• Lieferantenqualifikation & Audits: Neue Lieferanten qualifizieren, regelmäßige Prozess-, System- und Produktaudits durchführen.
• Qualität Anforderungen & FAI: Qualitätsanforderungen definieren, First Article Inspections steuern.
• Leistung überwachen & verbessern: Lieferantenleistung anhand KPIs überwachen und Verbesserungsinitiativen treiben.
• Keine-Abweichungen Management: Ursachenanalyse durchführen, CAPAs umsetzen (8D).

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the implementation of the local quality strategy, driving a strong quality culture, continuous improvement, and sustainable problem-solving. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will ensure that all purchased materials and services meet ABB standards by qualifying suppliers, monitoring performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve world-class results.

This role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Buildings / Supplier Business Excellence & Development in Schaffhausen.

You Will Be Mainly Accountable For

• Supplier Qualification & Audits: Qualify and approve new suppliers and conduct regular process, system, and product audits.
• Quality Requirements & FAI: Define and communicate quality requirements and lead First Article Inspections and qualification processes.
• Performance Monitoring & Improvement: Track supplier performance using KPIs (e.g., PPM, OTD) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Non-Conformance Management: Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective actions (8D/CAPA).

Qualifications For The Role

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent professional experience
• Good knowledge of English and German (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
• Experience in supplier quality management and supplier audits (ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, IATF 16949 or similar)
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP and First Article Inspection (FAI)
• Strong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis methods (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa)
• Understanding of statistical quality methods (SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R)
• Knowledge of technical drawings, GD&T, and material/component specifications
